This is for anyone who plans on attending Operation: Eastern Wind with us as a West German Soldier. The following is a list of the REQUIRED equipment, required as in there is no question you must have it or you can't play.
G3 or G36 (full length) airsoft weapon system.
Sealed and rated goggles.
Low or mid cap magazines for your weapon.
At least two complete uniforms in Flectarn pattern.
At least four pairs of socks.
A warm hat.
Warmth layer.
Long johns or polypro.
Flectarn patrol cap.
German helmet with flectarn cover.
Flectarn armor vest.
Gloves.
Quality full-leather or Gore-Tex boots.
Military sleeping bag.
Sleeping pad.
Flectarn Gore-Tex or Sympatex rain parka.
German patrol rucksack.
German load bearing system.
German issue compass, carried on load bearing gear at all times.
Wristwatch.
German flectarn shelter half.
An entrenching tool, a mattock, a machete, or a hatchet.
Pocket knife.
Minimum of two dead rags.
German canteen with cup.
Water purification tablets.
Mess kit with silverware.
Military type flashlight.
Pad of paper and a pencil.
Individual first aid kit.
Personal care kit.
And there is some more recommended equipment:
Spare pair of boots.
Scarf.
Military cot.
Military bivy sack.
Wool blanket or poncho liner.
Poncho.
Military cook stove.
Mouse proof container.
Waterproof bag.
Laundry bag.
Equipment care kit.
Coffee cup.
Trioxane fuel tablets.
Wet Wipes.
Knee pads.
Alright, now for some recommendations. Do NOT plan on going with a G36, they are extremely anal about how the G36 looks because they are not technically period correct. A G3 with some black or green furniture will be great, however do NOT have a handguard with a bipod. As far as handguns go the P1 is allowed, it is just a P38. For maschinengewehrs the MG3 is/was used by the Bundeswehr in the 1980's, but there is no airsoft replica of it, ergo the MG42 is acceptable (no the "MG36" is not as it was never issued to anyone, ever, anywhere). While the Uzi was issued to Bundeswehr troops in the 80's they were incredibly rare and are therefor not allowed.

Now a word on uniforms. Uniforms includes headgear, clothing, armor, web gear, and boots. We'll just go top to bottom. Headgear wise I would recommend the Kevlar helmet, they cost about $100 new but you can find them cheaper, and they are identical to an American PASGAT which are also allowed (if you go for a PASGAT get a real one, the knockoffs are plastic, break, and cost more than the real thing. If your smart you can find one for $25-$30). The cap you will have to find on your own, they are a bitch to find but they are fairly cheap. For the actual clothing you need REAL Flecktarn BDU, knockoffs have many problems: One they are not actually Flecktarn, two they will rip (which you won't want happening at 0100 when your on a night patrol), and three they AREN'T ALLOWED! You can find real ones out the ass at Andy and Bax for $30 a full uniform so you have no excuse to not have them. I just ordered my body armor, and it cost me $40. One tip, make sure that the site is in the U.S. because this shit cannot be exported easily if at all. Web gear is here: www.keepshooting.com/german-military-combat-harness.html Get it, and love it. Boots are simple, black waterproof boots that look sexy as fuck. There you go for uniform. I will post up some rough pics when I get my gear here.
